Spray foam insulation in the roof and walls of a large timber-framed building

Make the most of the space inside the framing.

When a remodel opens up the walls, you have an opportunity to improve the insulation before they are closed again. Closed-cell spray foam is one option Heath discusses for projects where the available cavity depth matters.

We also install closed-cell foam in additions, custom homes, shops, and pole barns. Each structure needs its own plan. We review the surfaces, access, and proposed use before preparing an estimate.

Projects we can help with

  • Older-home remodels with exposed wall cavities
  • Custom homes and additions
  • Shops and pole barns
  • Roof and ceiling framing where the project calls for foam

What spray foam customers say.

★★★★★
“Energy Star Insulation was so good to work with! I remodeled and had 2 x 4 framing, and wasn’t able to achieve the R values I needed - basically, spray foam was my only option.”

“I've had Energy Star Insulation do both spray foam and install fiberglass batts. Spray foam about a year ago, and fiberglass batts just recently. I'm very happy with the outcome of both.”

Questions about spray foam insulation.

Have a question about your building? Call Heath to talk through the project.

Do you install open-cell spray foam?

Our thermal insulation service focuses on closed-cell spray foam. We’ll discuss the material proposed for your project during the evaluation.

Can you spray foam finished walls?

The projects described here involve accessible framing. If your walls are finished, tell us about the building and we’ll discuss what access and options would need to be reviewed.

Is spray foam right for every project?

No. We’ll look at the building, available space, and project requirements. Batt or blown-in insulation may be appropriate for other parts of the work.

Can spray foam cost less than building out 2×4 walls for batt insulation?

It can be. Compare the full job, including any framing changes. One option for an existing 2×4 wall is R-13 batts. Around three inches of the closed-cell foam we use can provide about R-21 without deepening that cavity. To fit R-21 batts, you may need to fur the wall out to 2×6 depth. The extra lumber and labor can bring that option close to the total cost of spray foam. We’ll compare the scope and confirm the insulation product, thickness, and R-value in your estimate.
